Note…
Colombo is the Business Capitol of Sri Lanka.
The city is free to explore.
Brief description…
Not necessarily a tourist destination, but rather a city you tend to pass through from landing in the country till departure. All the major offices, from Embassies to Visa office, to several high end shopping malls, can all be found in this city. Colombo Museum houses many artifacts of Sri Lankan history.
Getting to Colombo is easy. All major roads have buses running straight to Colombo. All trains go through Colombo Fort Station. It’s getting around inside the city that is tricky. The city is busy and alive 24/7. There are buses covering the city, but the route information is passed down through experience. Tuk-tuks are available in every corner.
Driving in Colombo is a job best left for the experienced. These roads are aggressive, even by local standards.
