Brief description…

Jaffna is a city in the north end of the island. Being a peninsula separated from the main land, together with the dry weather has resulted in the unique culture and lifestyle of the area.

Locals are mostly farmers. Despite the lack of fresh water or rain, there are huge thriving farm lands spread through out the area.

The area is still catching up in development since being liberated from the terrorist forces in 2008. Hence fancy hotels and resorts are yet to come to the area, but you can always find a modest bed and breakfast around the city limits.

The city is also home to several places with religious importance, such as the Nallur Kovil worshiped by Hindus and Nagadeepa Temple worshiped by Buddhists.
